Singapore is well-known for its constant national social engineering initiatives. So what could be a more Singaporean way of marking National Day than by starting your very own campaign?
Don’t have a secretariat or budget? Don’t have Ministry approval? Scared of being considered a one person illegal assembly? No problem! You can run your campaign right in the privacy of your own home, with your loved ones!
We thought and thought about it, and decided to combine three campaigns into one pow-ka-leow campaign: namely, (1) the Speak Good English Movement, (2) the Singapore Kindness Movement and (3) the move to help Singapore seniors acquire skills to work longer!
So here you can see an example of a young man very kindly teaching his grandmother certain common and very useful everyday English phrases. So after this, she can work in a McDonald’s leow – and speak the same lingo as her youthful customers!
